We are very grateful for the guest that left the menu for Bahn Mai Thai restaurant in Llanelli.  Obviously we couldn’t leave the menu in the house without trying the place ourselves.  It’s a tough job but we do need to make sure the places recommended are up to scratch.  So on our guests behalf we sacrificed our Friday evening and tootled down to Llanelli to try this restaurant.  Well it was certainly worth the trip.  It took about 15 minutes to get there and parked easily in a side street.  The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the decor authentic.  We were served very graciously and the food was delicious.   It was quite busy, always a good sign in a restaurant I think, (TripAdvisor reviews), with a mix of couple, groups and families.  We will definately go there again, so thank you to whoever tried this little gem first and took the trouble to leave the menu in the house.

If your eating out idea means eating in the garden there is always the BBQ option.  There is a really good butcher in Tmble just a stroll from the door which sells meat, cheese, vegetables and fruit.  There is wine and beer for sale in the shop almost opposite so you can source the whole show with the minimum of effort.  Whatever your choice, and there is plenty, we hope you have a wonderful gastronomic time during your stay.

If you are looking for a takeaway rather than a sit down then Harri Morgan’s fish and chip shop is a 5 minute walk from the front door of 94 High Street.  This place kept me going when I was renovating the house and is our first choice for a chippy.  Very friendly and the fish is excellent.  Jolly good value too.  If you fancy an Indian then our choice will always be Dwbis in Cross Hands.  They do excellent take-away as well as sit down and we have never been disappointed with the food.

If lunch is more your thing and you are staying with your pouch then the Ginhaus in Llandeilo welcomes dogs and owners.  Gin is not obligatory though they have some fantastic ones and the food is yummy and plentiful.  They also have a deli where you can buy more yumminess and take it home.  I have also on occasion stopped at Heavenly on the way back to the car for an ice cream………….well it would be rude not to!
