There is quite a thriving arts and crafts movement in Carmarthen. If you are interested in purchasing a piece you will find talent, choice and the prices are very competitive.
There are a number of Galleries in St Peters Street in Carmarthen. The Oriel Gallery is a co-operative of professional artists who all live or work in Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire and definitely worth a look around. The King Street Gallery is another co-operative who run workshops throughout the year which, you can book through their website. Opposite St Peter’s Church is The Oriel Myrddin Gallery, a public funded gallery serving South West Wales showcasing local contemporary arts and craft makers.

A lovely place to visit with pottery, prints cards and other art work for sale. Welsh wool and blankets The Teifi Valley has been the centre of the Welsh woollen trade since the nineteenth century, the mill at Dre-fach Felindre on Teifiside was chosen by the National Museum of Wales to house its Museum of the Welsh Woollen Industry, where Melin Teifi still produces the finest traditional Welsh flannel using top-quality materials and local craftsmanship.
